Technical master planning for towers 1, 2, and 3 of the Max Planck Institute for molecular genetics


  • General: Technical master plan for system groups 1, 2, 3, and 8 according to §51 HOAI
  • Planning: Layout and analysis of sanitation, heating, cooling, ventilation, and building automation facilities
  • Preparation: planning and construction oversight of technical building equipment (TBE)
  • Implementation: connection of cooling supply, partial and complete air conditioning system, water treatment system, and clean steam supply system

Project results:

Restoration work was initiated for the theoretical laboratories, conference rooms, BSL-2 and radionuclide labs, as well as administrative offices of the Max Planck Institute.

In the research building, air conditioning with a cooling capacity of 1.5 MW on two temperature levels was installed. The newly constructed air conditioning system reaches a total volumetric flow of 114,300 m3/h, by contrast, the smoke exhaust systems 52,200 m3/h.

For water treatment, a system with a capacity of 1.5 m3/h was built, and a clean steam supply system of 500 kg/h steam.
